REVERY - NORTH 4th CORRIDOR • COLUMBUS, OHIO
KAIT + WILL
One of my greatest pleasures as a designer is watching a couple's vision grow and change from what they think they want, into something that truly reflects who they are. When we first started talking about design, Kait wanted nothing but white, greenery, and candles.
Color scared her.
She wasn't sure how to incorporate it. With a little encouragement she quickly moved away from the monotone idea to a palette of vibrant sunset tones that screamed, "Hello, Summer!" With a foundation of limoncello, apricot, and pink clay, an earthy vibrance was added using turmeric and persimmon. Then, as a contrast, a bewitching dawn blue.
Choosing Revery - North 4th Corridor with is sprawling glass ceilings and breathtaking view of the Columbus skyline was a no-brainer for the couple who wanted to share the city with their loved ones. But it was missing one crucial element - outdoor space. Kait + Will wanted to bring as much of an outdoor feel into the space as possible. As Kait requested:
"Drown me in flowers."
To that? Kirstin at Bear Roots Floral said, "Challenge accepted." But it was Tessa at Starling Studios who couldn't have done a better job capturing the magic.
GETTING READY
Kait decided to get ready at an AirBnB, a choice that added an extra layer of intimacy to the day and created a stunning backdrop for photos. The ladies enjoyed a leisurely morning of hair and makeup by the experts at Le Rêve Makeup & Hair. In the bedroom window hung Kait's gown from Lovely Bride Cincinnati, a Tara Lauren design with a removable train that captured her unique style. Her attire was accented perfectly by bridesmaid gowns in a dawn blue by Revelry
The couples stationery was bright and colorful, with hand-drawn illustrations of wildflowers and a classic font, it complemented the rings and floral arrangements beautifully.
ROOFTOP WEDDING IN DOWNTOWN COLUMBUS
After exploring the Ohio Statehouse with their wedding party, Kait and Will headed to Revery. Upon arrival, the floral and Berlyn Events team were eagerly waiting for Kait and Will's reaction. It did not disappoint. Kait was awestruck, and Will looked on in amazement, knowing how hard Kait had worked to bring her floral dreams to life. Guests were greeted with a welcome sign featuring a hand-carved Boston Terrier representing the couple's fur baby who couldn't be there. Kicking the celebration off early - shelves of Jackie O's beer - a mainstay at the couple's alma mater, Ohio University.
Fanning meadow floral arrangements flanked the aisle with a few wild, tall groupings nestled amongst the chairs. Tables adorned with delicate floral arrangements, blue taper candles, and a combination of lemon, spice, and coral velvet napkins by Got Ya Covered Linens, accented by blush clay dinnerware, blue carousel glassware and white and gold flatware provided by Aiden & Grace stood ready to welcome guests for the reception.
After a ceremony officiated by one of their closest friends, and surrounded by their family, Kait and Will shared their first kiss as husband and wife. As beautiful a moment as that was, the enduring love between their grandparents stood out, offering a touching example for the newlyweds.
A live saxophone player, a shower of cold sparks, and their engagement video by Emily Schutz Photo & Video playing live on the DJ booth kicked off the Cocktail Hour with a bang!
